Loxam officially confirms its partnership with Paris 2024

LOXAM, the French and European leader and global no. 4 for equipment rental in building, civil works, industry and event management, is pleased to announce the official conclusion of its partnership with the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee (COJO). The partnership agreement was reviewed on Thursday 30 March in the presence of Gérard Déprez, President of LOXAM, and Tony Estanguet, President of Paris 2024.

Under the terms of this partnership, LOXAM will provide, as part of a consortium with GL events, all the products and services relating to the production and distribution of temporary power, uninterrupted electricity supply and temporary temperature control on all sites, including the International Broadcast Center. This 46,000 sqm temporary structure will accommodate the world media for the duration of the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics.

A team of more than 350 people will be mobilised on the work to design, assemble, operate and dismantle these facilities, thus harnessing the excellence of an industrial vertical available inside the French borders.

The electricity supply concept for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games is to plug the installations into the power grid and deploy a temporary architecture from these connecting points. The project therefore comprises the installation of 35 high voltage delivery stations, medium and low-voltage transformers, thousands of distribution cabinets, and more than 5,000 km of cables across all the sites. More than 160 gensets wall also be pre-installed to provide back-up power in the event of a power cut.

During these operations, LOXAM also undertakes to make allowances for the environmental impact of its actions by primarily using equipment powered by high-efficiency biofuels. Among its other commitments, the Group will call on the fabric of small businesses and the social and solidarity sector to deliver a proportion of the services. Finally, legacy will be guaranteed through the massive reuse of products and equipment, and the recycling of nearly all worksite waste.

Compliance with these undertakings will be audited and certified by an independent third party body at the end of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Gérard Déprez, President of LOXAM, comments: “LOXAM is proud to provide all its know-how to the organisation of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games and contribute to their success. This event will be a watershed moment for our country, for an entire economic sector, and naturally for the LOXAM Group which is already well-established abroad.”
